Conversa.NT™ Centered on Speech, Style and Value

Kitchener, ON - Unitron Hearing Australia, announced today their new digital hearing instrument, Conversa.NT™. Conversa.NT, the latest addition to the digital product family in the mid-level category, is designed to improve conversations in more listening situations.

Conversa.NT Conversa.NT’s adaptive beamformer, available from canal through Power BTE, tracks moving noise sources to keep the spotlight on speech in a wider range of listening situations – even challenging ones. With a simple program change, clients can select omnidirectional, fixed directional or adaptive directional to keep the focus on conversations in every type of listening situation.

Complex detectors in Conversa.NT provide the sophistication behind both its speech enhancement and intelligent noise reduction system. The detectors analyze the signals across all 16 channels to differentiate speech from noise. Gain is then increased or decreased, independently, in those channels where speech and/or noise cues are present. By providing greater precision of high-resolution adjustments, Conversa.NT’s detectors yield more comfortable enjoyment of speech in quiet and noisy situations.

Conversa.NT’s speech enhancement identifies and emphasizes speech inputs, increasing gain in any of the 16 channels where speech is detected. A technology typically found only in premium hearing instruments, Conversa.NT’s speech enhancement stands out for the complexity of its detectors, and its precise, 16-channel resolution.

In addition, Conversa.NT’s realtime feedback canceller preserves speech clarity and sound quality, activating within 60 milliseconds to simultaneously attack multiple feedback peaks across all 16 channels.

“Conversa.NT offers more value in the Advanced hearing instrument category,” commented Cameron Hay, President & CEO, Unitron Hearing. “Conversa.NT brings established technologies, typically found only in premium hearing instruments, to the Advanced level. Conversa.NT is the first hearing instrument in this mid-level category to include the Moda™ 10A BTE fitting option, as well as, several practical and performance features for exceptional comfort and value.”

Conversa.NT practical extras include the wind noise manager to ensure comfort when outdoors in windy conditions. The ideal volume indicator helps wearers achieve their optimal volume setting effortlessly while Easy t-coil keeps telephone conversations clear and comfortable. In addition, Conversa.NT is available with WiFi Mic for CROS/BiCROS clients.

Great Conversations with Style
Conversa.NT styled for Moda™ is the new ultra-small, stylish 10A BTE ideal for those with mild to moderately severe hearing losses seeking a discreet BTE. Moda offers a choice of slim tubes for open fittings or traditional earmolds allowing hearing professionals to fit a wider range of hearing losses with a cosmetically appealing solution. A same-day fit with in-stock slim tubes and no impressions helps ensure quick client satisfaction. Learn more about Moda >

Simple, Reliable Fittings
Conversa.NT can be optimized through Unifit based on clients’ different listening preferences. New to Unifit for Conversa.NT, the high-frequency hearing loss correction tool addresses sound quality concerns typically associated with high-frequency hearing losses. The in-situ audiometry improves first-fit acceptance and minimizes fine-tuning for a more successful fit the first time.

Conversa.NT is available from the tiniest CIC to an expanded choice of BTEs, including the extra small Moda. Conversa.NT will be available worldwide in May 2005. Contact your local Unitron Hearing representative for availability in your market.
